Student life

Aix-Marseille University benefits from a dynamic campus life with more than 130 student societies, organisations and many sporting and cultural activities.

Sport

The SUAPS (University Service of Physical and Sporting Activities) offers a large choice of individual and team sports.

To become a member, you need to apply for a sports card at the sports office of your campus, with three ID photos and medical certificate which allows you to participate in sporting activities.

For certain degrees, you can get extra points for participating in sporting activities.

There are sports offices and sports facilities on all the main campuses.

Cultural activities

Culture Card

For only 5 euros, the Aix-Marseille University Culture Card allows you to benefit from a maximum of good deals, special price tickets with numerous cultural partners in the region.

You can find information and contact details along with a list of partners, on the Student Life website.

The Mission Culture

The Mission Culture encourages and supports cultural and artistic projects at AMU (Aix-Marseille University). In partnership with regional cultural organisations, it proposes numerous events at the University and off-campus.

The Scientific and Technical Culture Unit

The Scientific Culture and Technical Unit proposes a programme of workshops, events (“Souk des Sciences”, Science Festival, Heritage Days) exhibitions open to all members of the public throughout the year.

Aix-Marseille University’s Antoine Vitez Theatre

Situated at the Faculty of Humanities, Aix-en-Provence, the Vitez Theatre proposes drama workshops and a programme packed full of shows throughout the year, with reduced price tickets for students and holders of the AMU Culture Card.

The CROUS cultural service

The CROUS (Centre Régional des Œuvres Universitaires et Scolaires) organises student activities, events and competitions throughout the year. It can also offer financial and organisational help with cultural initiatives and projects brought forward by students.

 

Accommodation

Halls of residence

Rooms in halls of residence are available to international students who are taking part in an exchange programme and holders of grants from the French Government. Certain conditions apply. You should apply through the International Relations Office at AMU and not directly with the CROUS. If you are allocated a room, you will receive a code which gives you access to the reservation site.

If you are coming to our university to study in a personal capacity (ie. not on as part of an exchange programme), you should apply for accommodation directly through the CROUS Aix-Marseille website: http://www.crous-aix-marseille.fr/
